Last 9 June, in Fondi, the Carabinieri of Tenenza, in collaboration with the Carabinieri of the employee of the Operational Division, intervened in a house where a 64-year-old citizen had found at the home of his 62-year-old brother, Antonio Grossi, prone on the ground inside the bathroom between the shower and the toilet, his lifeless body.
118 personnel intervened on site and confirmed his death, without providing the causes. At the request of the deputy prosecutor of the Republic of Latina, Martina Taglione, the competent medical examiner intervened and carried out the autopsy examination which revealed concrete elements to trace the death to an assault suffered by the 62-year-old in the previous days.
Active investigations are underway by the Carabinieri, coordinated by the Judicial Authority who are following a very specific lead.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office immediately opened an investigation into the death of Antonio Grossi, a gardener by profession, so much so that the autopsy was carried out on 10 June. His body was found in the house in via Giovanni Tribuzio, in the San Magno area, in Fondi, on Sunday 9 June. The possibility of an attack was not ruled out from the beginning.
After the discovery of the body, medical personnel called by the brother arrived on site. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man, but unfortunately every attempt to save his life proved futile. Some small injuries were noted on the body.
Furthermore, the week before his death, Grossi apparently went to the emergency room, explaining to the doctors that he had fallen from a tree, to undergo other health checks, but refused hospitalization.
