The 2023 Draft was already exceptional for French basketball with two prospects selected in the Top 10, and not the least. Indeed, Victor Wembanyama arrived across the Atlantic with the status of a future legend, while Bilal Coulibaly quickly showed that he had the potential to become one of the best defenders in the entire league.
But if no young Frenchman has the level of Wemby this year, this 2024 vintage could be even more beautiful. Indeed, barring any big surprises, three of our young representatives could leave in the Top 10. Zaccharie Risacher and Alexandre Sarr can potentially fly to Atlanta and Washington, while Tidjane Salaün will be expected a little later.

People justify this choice by saying that he has great potential, time to progress, that he is young, without giving a tangible reason why he will one day be able to reach his potential.
Unlike Victor Wembanyama and Bilal Coulibaly, who arrived through the front door in the NBA, Tidjane Salaün will have to give his all to convince the fans. But given the boy’s potential, he should succeed if he has the trust of a group.
