In recent hours, rumors have been increasing about a possible transfer of Paul George to the Golden State Warriors through a sign and trade coming from the Los Angeles Clippers.
As reported by the media NBC Sportsthose from San Francisco would be very interested in closing his arrival to give Stephen Curry a new opportunity to fight for the ring, but certain circumstances would have to be met if they want to tie his arrival:
- That Paul George extends his player option and subsequently requests the transfer.
- Release Chris Paul’s salary (30.80 million) or include him in the operation.
- Both James Harden and Klay Thompson are due to be free agents as of July 1.
- Offer the maximum salary to the 34-year-old player he is pursuing so much.
This last point, as Brian Windhorst was able to report, would not be a problem for the Warriors management, and with Mike Dunleavy at the helm they would be willing to offer it to him if necessary. The objective will remain the same: “Win in the short term.”
In the possible operation they could get rid of, in addition to Paul’s salary, some of their young promises, such as Jonathan Kuminga or Moses Moody, as well as some future first round of the Draft.

«We have to be realistic, and by this I do not mean that I exaggerate or that I am pressuring. But you need to have some patience, and at the same time be clear about the time horizon that we have with Curry, Draymond, and hopefully with Klay,” explained Mike Dunleavy.
«As those guys get older, we have to be aware that at some point they will not be at the level to compete for a championship. I don’t think it’s too soon, but at some point it will come,” the leader acknowledged.
In his fifth season wearing the Clippers jersey, he has averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 74 games played.
«He wants a maximum (Paul George), and from what we know there are other teams willing to give it to him. And one of those teams is on the West Coast, which is none other than Golden State,” highlighted the aforementioned Windhorst.
