New York Knicks and Washington Wizards Discuss Trade for Mitchell Robinson

According to media sources, the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards have held talks for center Mitchell Robinson SNY.com.

Apparently, New York would work to get OG Anunoby and Isaiah Hartenstein’s contract extensions done, and the aforementioned Robinson would have to leave so they could create enough salary space in their accounts.

“I’m sure there have been several teams inquiring about Robinson, their 26-year-old starting center. “If the Knicks decide to trade him, it would be surprising if they did so before or during the 2024 draft,” journalist Ian Bagley explained.

Robinson, 26, played in just 31 games last regular season due to physical problems. He still has two guaranteed years of decreasing pay ahead of him, for $14.31 million and $12.95 million.

He was selected in the second round of the 2018 draft and has NBA career averages of 8 points, 8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per day.

As for the Wizards, they could put the names Kyle Kuzma, Marvin Bagley III or Landry Shamet on the table to match the salaries, although a third team would have to be involved in the operation.
