New York Knicks Reportedly Negotiating with Miami Heat to Acquire Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler was already under the command of Tom Thibodeau during his time as a player for the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves and, according to media sources CBS Sportsthere could be a third time, since the New York Knicks would be willing to negotiate with the Miami Heat.

«Jimmy Butler’s path to the Knicks would be much easier than to the Lakers. Julius Randle and Bojan Bogdanovic can match salaries. And the Knicks have only so many rounds under their belt to find the player’s true value. Deuce McBride would not be a very Miami Heat type player… Thibodeau has already coached him in Chicago and Minnesota, so he would be comfortable with his peculiarities. The Knicks may prefer to wait for a younger star, although if they got Butler, they could be on par with the Celtics,” explained journalist Sam Quinn.

The aforementioned Butler will enter his last guaranteed year valued at $48.79 million, and for the 2025-26 season a ‘player option’ of $52 million is reserved.

In 60 official games last year he averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5 assists in 34 minutes per day.
