At the 2nd JuKi tournament in Kirchberg, newcomer Ivan Apukhtin from the Judo Team Wängle shone on the tatami and won his first gold medal.
WÄNGLE/KIRCHBERG (eha). Over 200 judoka from Tyrol and Salzburg traveled to Kirchberg to fight for the title. Ivan Apukhtin won the gold medal at his first tournament.
Gabriel Gundolf was in top form again. In his competition group with a total of 12 judoka, he clearly dominated his fights and marched all the way to the final. There, however, he had to admit defeat. A strong silver medal for Gabriel.
Yannick Huber has now been able to train himself to have good body tension, which he uses to challenge his opponents. As one of the youngest participants, his opponents are still technically superior to him in judo. Yannick has, however, been able to gain good competition experience.
Unfortunately, Fenja Konzmann had no opponent in her weight class that day. She fought a friendly match against the winner of the slightly lighter weight class up to 22 kg, which she won early with a strong Ippon.
Philip Pöhler was able to win some fights, but was a bit unlucky and took a good 5th place.
His brother Finn Müller was highly motivated and delivered strong judo. He narrowly lost the fight for the bronze medal this time. He was able to look back on the day with satisfaction, coming in 4th place out of 12 participants.
Anais Huber and her teammate Hannah Leuprecht had to assert themselves in the extremely experienced competition group. Almost all of the top judoka from Tyrol in the under 12 to 32kg group were represented there. Hannah was a little lucky with the draw and managed to win a fight. Anais had a history of injuries and had really tough opponents. She showed strong judo and prevailed, but neither of the Wängler girls managed to win a medal.
