Nine-year-old Lorenzo Somaschini died during a training ride in Brazil

The young motorcyclist crashed in the first training run of the Youth Cup on Friday, June 14. Doctors immediately rushed to Lorenzo and began to care for him.

He was taken to the emergency room. On Sunday, June 16, the young driver was admitted to São Paulo hospital in intensive care, but did not survive. The athlete born in Argentina died at 19:43.

Lorenzo started his career in April 2024. His idol in motorsport was three-time MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo. The young driver even used his number – 99.

The motorsport legend expressed his condolences to the athlete’s family: “It breaks my heart to hear that I was his idol. Unfortunately, motorcycles are unpredictable.”
