French have played two matches in Euro 2024. However, no French player has yet listed his name on the goalscoring list.
France had to be satisfied with a draw when they faced the Netherlands in the second match of Group D Euro 2024. Duel Netherlands vs France at the Red Bull Arena, Leipzig, Saturday (22/6/2024) early morning WIB, ended 0-0.
France, who appeared more dominant, recorded 16 shots, three of which were on target. Antoine Griezmann had the best chance, but the French captain failed to use the ball in front of goal.
With this result, it means that no French player has scored a goal at Euro 2024. In the first match of Group D, Les Bleus won 1-0 over Austria thanks to Maximilian Wober’s own goal.
The lack of French goals has caught Didier Deschamps’ attention. He regretted France’s poor finishing.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t score a goal. It was a high intensity match, and I was happy with what the kids showed, although I was disappointed with the lack of efficiency in front of goal,” said Deschamps as quoted by UEFA’s official website.
“We are good up front. There are many positive things to take and you have to consider the opponents too, who are equally strong (Austria and the Netherlands).”
“But obviously, you have to score goals if you want to win. We will pay attention to that and hope we can improve it for the next match so we can achieve our target of qualifying for the next round,” he said.
