„Nuri“explains the 65-year-old, “He carries BVB in his heart – that’s not just an empty phrase for him. I noticed him back then as an U17 player, and we’ve been in regular contact ever since.” Even Sahin’s former coach José Mourinho, who once guided the now 35-year-old to Real Madrid, contacted Watzke and congratulated him on the promotion.
