Oetingse Olympic Triptych: Run To Go Olympic Project Supports Athlete’s Paralympic Dreams

The next event of the “Run To Go Olympic project” will take place on Saturday, June 29: the Oetingse Olympic Triptych. Numerous different running competitions will be organized on and around the Statieplein in Oetingen from 2 p.m.

Brent Van Der Kelen from Pajottenland became paralyzed after an accident in 2019 and will unfortunately be in a wheelchair forever. But the young man who used to be very sporty wants to move forward in life. Giving up is not in his dictionary. So Brent wants to shine in G badminton at the Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028. But the trip to LA costs a lot of money and so the jogging club from Oetingen organizes numerous events to raise money for Brent’s trip.

It is possible to register from 1 p.m. in the Elkerlyc hall. The first running competitions for children start at 2 p.m. There are separate running competitions for children up to 4 years old, up to 8 years old and up to 12 years old. Afterwards, the races will start over a distance of 2.5, 5 or 10 km. An event will start at 5 p.m. in the Elkerlyc parish hall, including an auction of sports shirts from a number of Belgian top athletes, a super tombola and the presentation of a (provisional) check to Brent VDK. The counter of our RTGO project today stands at 12,645 euros!
