OG Anunoby Set to Sign $212.5 Million Contract with New York Knicks

OG Anunoby intends to sign a five-year, $212.5 million contract with the New York Knicks, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The agreement would include an option year and compensation in the event of an exchange (trade kicker).

Anunoby declined his $19 million option to become a free agent earlier this week.

The 26-year-old appeared in 23 regular season games with the Knicks, who acquired him from Toronto on December 30. He averaged 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game following this trade.

Selected 23rd overall by the Raptors in 2017, he spent seven seasons in the Queen City, posting averages of 11.8 points and 4.3 rebounds in 395 games.

The Knicks went 20-3 in games Anunoby played.

They were leading 2-0 in the second round of the playoffs against the Pacers when a hamstring injury caused him to miss four games. He attempted a comeback in Game 7, but left after just five minutes in a game Indiana won.
