OL sells the LDLC Arena to Jean-Michel Aulas for €160m

The construction of the LDLC Arena cost OL €140 million, financed exclusively by debt in a complicated period for the club. Despite the good medium-term profitability of this equipment, John Textor decided to sell it in order to refocus activities on football, and above all, to bring in new money. The American owner signed an agreement this Thursday morning with Holnest, the family holding company of Jean-Michel Aulas, who will buy the hall which hosts Asvel matches and concerts.

This deal will bring in a total of €160 million for OL, including a first immediate payment (before June 12) of part of the sum which will allow the club to escape a delicate financial situation.

Furthermore, the stadium’s general manager Xavier Pierrot will leave his position at OL to become CEO of the Arena, under the direction of Jean-Michel Aulas.
