OL Set to Sign Moussa Niakhaté: Lovren and Diomandé on the Way Out

After having validated its passage before the DNCG, OL are not hanging around. John Textor is in the process of signing Moussa Niakhaté for the upcoming season. At 28, the Senegalese defender should strengthen the club’s defensive sector. Thus pushing Lovren and Diomandé towards the exit.

Moussa Niakhaté, defender, should settle down at the Rhone club. He will come to strengthen a sector of play that was the target of OL’s recruitment for this summer. Even if the profile of the player does not necessarily correspond to the one sought, the file seemed more affordable financially, than the 45 million euros demanded by West Ham for Aguerd, target number 1 at the start. The arrival of Niakhaté will be around 27 million euros, while he only had two years left on his contract.

Lovren and Diomandé not retained

After having validated his passage before the DNCG, John Textor will be able to calmly begin his summer transfer window. In today’s edition, the sports daily L’Équipe reveals that the arrival of Moussa Niakhaté will push these two players towards the exit. In difficulty this season, the two men should therefore not be in the game, but some clubs still need to want to buy them. Tagliafico is also not sure of staying in the Rhône next season. Many movements in the direction of departures and arrivals are to be expected at OL this summer.

A big fan of Saint-Étienne, I still thrill every time I talk about the 2013 Coupe de la Ligue title. Remember… ASSE-RENNES final, we play the eighteenth minute. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, receives the ball on the left, crosses with the outside of his foot, and finds Brandao who puts the ball in the back of the net with the left. 1-0 for the Greens, the score remains that way. Enough for me to remember it like it was yesterday.
