Orlando Magic Eyeing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in Free Agency: Offers Short-Term Contract

The Orlando Magic are, along with the OKC Thunder, one of the few playoff teams with cap space. And according to information from journalist Matt Moore, the Florida franchise would be very interested in undertaking the signing of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

According to sources close to the situation, the Magic would be willing to offer him a short-term contract for 2 years and around 50 million dollars.

«Orlando Magic is one of the few playoff teams with cap space. He has almost $50 million to spend, with Jonathan Isaac being the highest-paid player on the roster at $17 million. League sources suggest that the Magic are willing to offer short-term contracts to either Golden State’s Klay Thompson or Denver’s KCP,” the aforementioned Moore explained.

Caldwell-Pope confirmed yesterday that he was entering free agency after rejecting his player option worth $15.44 million.

Since joining the Nuggets, he has played 152 official games (all as a starter) with averages of 10.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 31.5 minutes per game.
