Ostapenko loses one position in the WTA ranking before Wimbledon

Latvia’s first racket Alon Ostapenko in the latest ranking of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) is one position lower and occupies the 14th place.

Ostapenko, who will meet Australian Ajla Tomlianovic in the first round of Wimbledon next week, has been overtaken by Russian Daria Kasatkina.

Also the second racket of Latvia Daria Semenistaya is one position lower, occupying the 108th place. Diana Marcinkeviča is four places lower and occupies the 322nd place, Anastasia Sevastova regained four places and ranks 369th, but has experienced a rise of five places Daniela Wisman (389.). Camilla Bartone is 20 places higher (670.), Valery Kargin there are two places (1153), but Margarita Ignatieva one place below (1203), Anna Ozerova going up four places (1369).

There have been no changes in the top ten, and the leader of the ranking is still Iga Šviontek from Poland, followed by Cory Goff from the USA and Arina Sabalenka from Belarus. Yelena Rybakina from Kazakhstan holds fourth place, American Jessica Pegula is still fifth, and Czech Marketa Vondroushova is sixth. Yasmîne Paolini from Italy is seventh, Jen Xinwen from China is eighth, Maria Sakari from Greece is ninth, and Onsa Jabert from Tunisia completes the top ten.

In the doubles ranking, Ostapenko has moved up three places to the 20th position after her victory at the Eastbourne “WTA 500” series tournament on Saturday. Semenistaja has moved up by one place and occupies the 155th position, while Vismane (161st) and Marcinkēviča (228th) have kept their places. Barton is up five places (397th), Ignatieva is four (779th), Daniela Darta Feldman – two (1203rd), Marina Markin – five (1230th), Kargina – four (1334th) and Ozerova – 28 places lower (1352), but Marija Semenistaja (1549) has kept her place in the ranking.

Belgian Elise Mertens and her partner Suwei Xie from Taiwan are still the leaders in doubles, while New Zealander Erin Ratliff is third.
