Despite her two final defeats, the French Open was the tournament of her life for the Italian.
Jasmine Paolini also narrowly missed out on the doubles title at the French Open in Paris. The tournament surprise from Italy also lost in the doubles final the day after losing the singles final to Iga Swiatek. With her compatriot Sara Errani, Paolini lost to Coco Gauff/Katerina Siniakova (USA/Czech Republic) 6:7 (5:7), 3:6.

Despite the two defeats, Paolini (28) has had the tournament of her life. Previously, she had been eliminated in the round of 16 at the latest in singles and doubles at the Grand Slam events.
In the singles, Paolini had surprisingly reached the final, but had no chance against Swiatek from Poland on Saturday, losing 2:6, 1:6. Her doubles partner Errani (37) had also reached the final of Roland Garros in 2012, where she lost clearly to Maria Sharapova.
