Paris 2024 Olympics: the BBC promotional clip hits the mark in France

“Welcome to the City of love”, in a sometimes pink, sometimes bluish tone (the colors of the Paris 2024 designs), couples in love strut around the capital before transforming into Olympic athletes exercising their discipline. An allegory of love and sport, the one-minute video highlights the key monuments of Paris.

All in an animation recalling the Olympic values of surpassing oneself and unity, with the legendary song L’Hymne à l’amour by Édith Piaf in the background. This animated shot, well-made, harmonious and unifying, initially imagined to announce the important device of the British channel for the coverage of the event, won over the public on social networks.

The French, usually stingy with compliments when it comes to the English, declared themselves rather delighted with this video showing France in its most beautiful light.

In France, France Télévisions will broadcast the Olympic fortnight (from July 26 to August 11) and will continue with the Paralympic Games (August 28 to September 8).
