“We’re not done. To win you have to get better every year and we’re ready to get back,” Mahomes said after receiving his third NFL championship ring at the event the Chiefs hosted at the Nelson-Atkins Museum in downtown Kansas, Missouri.
The ring that commemorates winning Super Bowl LVIII last February in which they beat the San Francisco 49ers has 529 diamonds and 38 rubies.
At the top of the piece, the four Vince Lombardi trophies that the Chiefs have won in their history appear recreated, with the precious stones; Super Bowl IV, 1969; and the three of this dynasty obtained in the LIV editions, 2019; LVII, 2022; and LVIII, 2023.
The lid of the ring opens to reveal an American football field. On the back of the cover is engraved the play called ‘Tom & Jerry’ with which they won the title game.
On one side appears the number of the player to whom each ring corresponds, on the other the phrase ‘Back to Back’ is engraved, in reference to the consecutive victories in Super Bowls LVII and LVIII.
