Paul George (Clippers) becomes free agent

According to ESPN, Paul George did not activate his “player option” and finds himself a free agent. The Clippers star winger refused a one-year extension worth $48 million and will therefore have the opportunity to test the market.

The Philadelphia Sixers, eager to find a new star around Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, are interested in the player, a 9-time All Star. But the Los Angeles Clippers could also offer him a new contract of $212 million over four years. That is as much as signing a new contract elsewhere (four years and $212 million according to the CBA, a contract that binds the NBA, the franchises and the players’ union and which governs transfers).
