Paul George will not exercise the Player Option worth over 48 million in his deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 9-time All Star will then become an unrestricted Free Agent, free to sign with any team.
George will meet with the Clippers and other teams with the cap space to sign him – the 76ers, Magic, and Thunder? – right after free agency opens.
The winger closed 2023/24 by updating his career-highs in field goal percentage (47%), three-point percentage (41%) and free throw percentage (90%).
The Clippers will be able to offer him a maximum of around $223 million over four years, while the other contenders will not be able to exceed $212 million.
