“We are delighted that Paul Nebel will be joining our professional squad again next season. He has attracted attention with strong performances in the 2nd Bundesliga over the past two years, and the loan deal had exactly the desired effect for us. He is now returning to us as a seasoned professional,” said sporting director Christian Heidel.

Nebel played 68 competitive matches for Karlsruhe, scoring nine goals and providing 17 assists. Nebel has been part of Mainz 05’s youth academy since 2016. He made his professional debut in September 2020 in the DFB Cup match against TSV Havelse at the age of 17, making him the youngest player in the club’s history at the time.
