Paula Badosa’s Grass Court Journey Comes to an End at Bad Homburg

The Spanish Paula Badosa finished her journey through the Bad Homburg tournament, where she had the best performance of her career on grass, by falling in the quarterfinals against the Russian Diana Shnaider, 6-3 and 7-6 (3).

Badosa was invited to the tournament and was inconsistent in the first set, and although she was more effective in the second and forced a tie-break, at 3-3 she lost the initiative and with it the match against the world number 47. The Spaniard, ranked 113, will play next week at Wimbledon, a tournament from which she had to withdraw last year due to injury.
