PBSI Confident Badminton Will Win Medals at Paris 2024 Olympics

JAKARTA – PBSI continues to believe that the badminton sports branch will win the Paris 2024 Olympic medals in the middle of this year.

Ricky Soebrdja, Head of Development and Achievements of PBSI, revealed that there are three sectors that can be trusted amid doubts about badminton following the inconsistency of their athletes.

“Speaking of targets, all five sectors have opportunities,” Ricky said in a press release on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

However, Ricky did not specify which medals would be the goal to take home later.

He revealed that the three sectors that have the greatest chance of winning medals in Paris later are singles, singles, singles and singles.

“Without excluding women’s and mixed doubles, they have a chance. So, just the player wants or not to get the best in the 2024 Paris Olympics, he said.

Badminton can win a medal from Paris due to six representatives who made sure to qualify to show that performances have declined in recent times.

Most recently, all six MPs appeared at the Indonesia Open 2024 which ended on Sunday, June 9, 2024. In the event, none of them could score at the top.

Of the six representatives, the farthest trip to the tournament was achieved only by Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. The only female was able to reach the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, one furthest representative reached the second round through APriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti pair. The other four were immediately overtaken in the first round.

The first four representatives who fell were the single son duo Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie as well as the mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy / Pitha Haningtyas Mentari and the double son Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto.
