Pediatric Department Hosts Olympic Afternoon with Paralympic Silver Medalist

The pediatric department of the hospital center organized an Olympic sharing afternoon on Tuesday with Fabrice Meunier, Paralympic silver medalist in archery in Beijing in 2008.

The seventeen teenagers welcomed into the service led by Doctor Bertrand Soto were thus able to benefit from the experience of this high-level athlete before trying their hand at archery.

“It’s important to meet young people,” said Fabrice Meunier. To show people who have the ambition to play sport that it is possible even with a disability, that we can have great projects and have great experiences. With this afternoon, they can escape a little from their hospitalization. Archery is a fun and unifying discipline that everyone can practice. »

As for the Olympic Games, “they are the symbol of sport, it is the Holy Grail. For me, it is a sporting and family outcome. My silver medal is as much mine as it is my family’s. »
