Pepa Sršeň shows why circuits are not driven in the opposite direction

As shown in the video created by Autodrom Most in cooperation with the well-known Czech biker and motorcycle reviewer Pepa Sršně, the direction of the race is linked to a whole range of things that simply cannot be ignored or changed quickly.

After all, Pepa Sršeň himself mentions in the video that he is the only person who was allowed to drive the circuit in the opposite direction in Most. He got three rounds and he won’t have another chance.

The reasons why circuits are driven in one direction are of course related to safety, which is an absolute priority not only at the Mostec Autodrome. The circuit meets the strictest conditions of the international motorcycle federation FIM and the track is designed to provide maximum protection when riding in one direction.

This corresponds, for example, to the optimal placement of barriers or escape zones. These elements are designed precisely to work best when driving in one direction. They would not be as effective in the opposite direction.

Curbs, whose shape again reflects driving in one direction, are also interesting. According to Pepa Sršná, they cannot be crossed from the other side. They are actually rather dangerous for riders.

The track itself is also designed for loading in one direction, and the effort is to wear the track as evenly as possible. The Mosteck Autodrome boasts that its rules and regulations are based on many years of experience and analysis to ensure maximum safety for all participants.

Autodrom Most filmed the video not only to draw attention to the safety features on the circuit and that safety always comes first, but also as an invitation to the Superbike World Championship, the largest motorcycle event in the Czech Republic, which will take place in Most from the 19th to July 21st.

The race weekend starts with two 50-minute free practice sessions on Friday, followed by one more practice run on Saturday morning. After it comes the qualifying practice, i.e. the 25-minute Superpole, which determines the order at the start of the first race.

After that, three WorldSBK races await the fans – the first race on Saturday, the Tissot Superpole race (sprint for 10 laps) on Sunday morning and the second race on Sunday afternoon.

The main championship is accompanied by the WorldSSP and WorldSSP30 categories. There are two races in both, the first on Saturday, the second on Sunday.
