From July 1st, Peter Zeidler will be in charge of training at VfL Bochum. The club has now announced two assistants who will support the 61-year-old. The recently vacant position of goalkeeping coach has also been filled.

Almost a month after his introduction, Peter Zeidler will hold his first training session at VfL Bochum next Monday. After almost 20 years, Peter Greiber will not be on the pitch: the 55-year-old goalkeeping coach said goodbye to Castroper Strasse last week.
VfL has now presented a replacement a good week later – and in its club statement speaks of a “top-class” solution. Sebastian Baumgartner, who succeeds Greiber and comes from RB Salzburg, “trained and developed the goalkeepers at a top level and completely convinced us with his innovative ideas and concepts,” explains sports director Marc Lettau.
New keeper for the new coach?
In addition to the 37-year-old, who could possibly welcome a new number one in Patrick Drewes to training on Monday as the successor to the ousted Manuel Riemann, the Bochum team also presented a second newcomer to the coaching staff. Maxime Antonilli will be assistant coach at VfL and will meet his colleague Zeidler there. The 33-year-old had been assisting the new VfL coach as a video analyst since summer 2023 and is now also at his side at the local club. In Bochum, too, the 33-year-old will “focus his assistant coaching work on game analysis”.
