Pierre-Jean Golven, new general delegate of the Ultim Class

The former marketing director of Roland-Garros and director of the FFF is setting sail.

New at the operational head of the Ultim Class are these giant, flying boats which completed their first round-the-world race at the start of the year (won by Charles Caudrelier). Pierre-Jean Golven succeeds Stéphane Guilbaud, appointed in 2023 to rationalize a class shaken by the Gabart affair. Pierre-Jean Golven, aged 59, originally from Côtes d’Armor, graduated with a master’s degree in communications, held the positions of marketing director of Roland-Garros, communications director of the French football federation and marketing director and communication of the National Handball League. “His mission, alongside the Board of Directors of the class and all of the member shipowners, will be to build and implement an ambitious strategy to outline the next challenges for Ultim. In collaboration with the members of the different commissions, its mission will also be based on the coordination of the work in progress within the different commissions (gauge, communication, CSR, sport and safety)», Specifies the press release which announced his appointment this Wednesday.
