Portugal’s European Championship Victory: The Eternal Positivity of the Red Devils

Portugal won the European Championship against the Czech Republic thanks to a winning goal in injury time. In Portugal everyone was critical, fortunately there is always that eternal positivity that we know well from the Red Devils.

Portugal certainly did not play a good match against the Czech Republic, although they did dominate from the first to the last minute. Yet the winning goal did not come until minute 93. Tactically, the Portuguese had a very difficult time disrupting the Czechs.

“But we should not analyze this match tactically,” said Roberto Martinez in his response to the press conference afterwards. Then he brings up his mantras: “That’s not important right now. We have to look at other things.”

New ‘Golden Generation’?

“We showed resilience, willpower and belief in our own abilities. In this way we were able to correct a deficit. That is important, because we won this match after a complete team performance.”

In the meantime, X is receiving criticism. The comparison is made with Everton, but certainly also with the Red Devils. It seems that the supporters think that the national coach has a ‘Golden Generation’ in his hands for the second time and is going to destroy it.
