The rumor had been brewing for many months. CAF formalized, Friday June 21, the postponement of its next African Cup of Nations (CAN) to the winter of 2025/2026.
The competition will therefore begin on December 21, 2025 with a final scheduled for January 18, 2026, new dates at Christmas time.
The African Confederation thus avoids competition with the new Club World Cup, organized by Fifa in the summer of 2025.
