PSG: “A beautiful page is turning”, goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier announces his departure from the club

He is far from having played the leading roles in the last seasons of Paris Saint-Germain. In last or penultimate position in the hierarchy of goalkeepers of the capital club since his arrival from Orléans in 2020, Alexandre Letellier will no longer play in the Parisian jersey next season. The 33-year-old doorman announced it Monday evening on Instagram.

“A beautiful page is turning… After 4 years of pride in having worn the colors of my favorite club, it is time to say goodbye. I wanted to thank the club, the president, the managers, the coaches, the goalkeeper coaches, the staff, the medical staff and of course the players that I have been able to work with over all these years. A big thank you also to the stewards and employees of the club, the people behind the scenes who ensure that the players are in the best conditions and who ensure that the club runs. Thank you all for what you have given me. Thank you also to the supporters who have always supported me, the Parisian titi that I am. I will always stay behind the club because as the song says “I have the love of the jersey, red and blue engraved in my skin since the cradle”. See you soon Paris, thank you for everything,” wrote Letellier.

Often considered the fourth goalkeeper of PSG behind the holder Gianluigi Donnarumma, his replacements Keylor Navas, Sergio Rico and more recently Arnau Tenas, Alexandre Letellier has only played rare minutes with the Parisian jersey. For four years, he has come into play only twice, each time in the last match of the season, so that he is considered champion of France.

This is how during the 38th day of the 2021-2022 season, he played seven minutes against Metz at the Parc des Princes before returning ten minutes from the end a year later, still on the 38th day, against Clermont . The rest of the time, he had to be content with the PSG bench, when he was called up to the Parisian group.

In 2022, the native of Paris extended his Parisian adventure by two seasons until June 2024. An adventure which ends today, when in the other direction, the Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov is expected in Paris.
