PSIS Semarang Extends Boubakary Diarra’s Contract, Taisei Marukawa Departs: Full List of Players Updated in 2024

TRIBUNKALTARA.COM – The following is a list of 24 PSIS Semarang players recorded on the official psis.co.id website until June 21 2024, Boubakary Diarra’s contract has been extended, Taisei Marukawa has left.

Previously, PSIS Semarang officially extended the contract of one of the foreign players, namely Boubakary Diarra, for the next two seasons.

The player who usually fills the midfield from France has been extended because he is considered to be the lifeblood of the Laskar Mahesa Jenar team for the 2023/2024 Liga 1 season.

“We extended Boubakary Diarra for two seasons. During last season he played quite well.

He could be the lifeblood of PSIS’s midfield and one of the important players for PSIS Semarang.

“Therefore, we recommend extending Boubakary Diarra to management and reaching an agreement for the next two seasons,” said PSIS Semarang Manager Coach, Gilbert Agius on Thursday (20/6/2024) quoted from psis.co.id.

In last year’s Liga 1 season, Boubakary Diarra himself appeared 32 times with PSIS and scored two goals and one assist.

This player who plays as a midfielder was previously brought in by PSIS at the start of the 2023/24 Liga 1 competition from Maltese club, Mosta FC.

Responding to his contract extension, Boubakary Diarra himself also admitted that he was happy.

“I’m very happy to be here. Especially after one season here, I’m starting to know what the culture is like here and I want to play better than the previous season.

Meanwhile, PSIS Semarang boss, Yoyok Sukawi, said that Boubakary Diarra was a key PSIS player last season so management did not hesitate to offer him a new contract.

“Firstly, thank you for Boubakary Diarra’s commitment to return to the PSIS Semarang uniform.

“Like the coaching team, we from the management also consider that Boubakary Diarra was a key player for PSIS last season so we did not hesitate to offer him a new contract,” said Yoyok Sukawi.
