Puribec Senior League Match Postponed Due to Rain, Shaker Prepares for Monday Game

The only match on Sunday in the Puribec Senior League was postponed due to rain.

It was to pit Frontière FM in Edmundston against CIEL-FM in Rivière-du-Loup in the afternoon. But, early in the morning, the game was quickly postponed because the forecasts were poor for the day.

This is the 8th game, out of 45 since the start of the season, which has been postponed due to bad weather. The first seven have all been placed back in the calendar.

Shaker

Defeated in Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac on Saturday evening, the Shaker will be on the road again on Monday, Midsummer’s Day, when he will visit Industries Desjardins du Kamouraska (7-0 record) in Saint-Pascal to 19h.

Benjamin Roy (2-0) will be the Shaker’s starting pitcher. He will be opposed to veteran left-hander Antoine Bernier (1-0).

For the Rimouski team, this will be a 12th match, the start of its second half of the season. With a record of 7-4, the Shaker is second in the standings behind Industries Desjardins who have only played seven games so far.

The team’s record thus far is 4-1 at home and 3-3 on the road. Starting Friday, it will have a lighter schedule with its last ten games spread over 29 days.
