Rafa Nadal, about the doubles with Carlos Alcaraz at the Olympic Games: "I’m going to try to be a good partner for him."

Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz will form a doubles pair at the Paris Olympic Games, in addition to playing in the individual category. The Spaniard, who has given up the grass tour and with it, Wimbledon, has explained the reason for his decision and has also talked about how he will face the Olympic event.

“We believe that the best thing for my body is not to change surfaces and continue playing on clay until then. It is for this reason that I will miss playing Wimbledon this year,” the Spaniard confessed to journalists at the presentation of the Zel hotel in Costa brava.

Likewise, Nadal has spoken about how he will face the doubles together with Alcaraz: “I have not played doubles for a long time, but Carlos is in a fantastic moment after winning in Paris. I am going to try to arrive well enough prepared to be a good partner for he”.

He also wanted to point out what it means for him to be able to participate in the Olympic Games again: “I am very excited to participate in the Olympic Games, it is the last opportunity and I hope we can win.”

Finally, he indicated that he hopes to arrive in the best conditions: “What really excites me is to arrive prepared for the Olympic event. If everything goes well, I will play the previous tournament in Sweden.”

It should be remembered that Nadal already has two Olympic golds. He won the first in 2008 at the Beijing Games, while at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games he won in doubles with Marc López.
