Record-Breaking Italian Judo Team Set to Compete at 2024 Paris Olympic Games

It will be a record-breaking Italian judo team that will be competing at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Andrea Carlino (IJF photo) will also be on the tatami of the Champ-de-Mars Arena, thanks to the reallocation of a quota, who will be able to take part in the -60 kg draw. The Italian Team will therefore have its own representative in 13 of the 14 weight categories in the competition with the sole exception of the +100 kg. The Sicilian, bronze in 2016 in Malaga at the European Junior Championships (that time in the -55 kg), had remained outside the direct pass area after finishing his Olympic qualification path just outside the top thirty (32nd), a position achieved above all thanks to the third place he achieved in the first half of May at the Grand Slam in Astana. Now the official announcement has arrived for the twenty-seven-year-old Italian: he will be able to take part in an Olympics for the first time in his career.
