Reggie Jackson Exercises Player Option to Stay with Denver Nuggets in 2024-25

First confirmed renewal in the Nuggets. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPNReggie Jackson is going to exercise his player option worth $5.25 million to be part of Denver’s roster during the 2024-25 campaign.

It seems like a good decision for both parties. Jackson arrived in the Colorado organization in the final stretch of the 2022-23 season as a free agent and did not have much participation, but his role changed a lot last year, as he played in all 82 regular season games (23 as a starter for Jamal Murray ) to go up to 10.2 points and 3.8 assists in 22.2 minutes per game.

Beyond the continuity of the point guard, Denver has quite a few decisions to make. The most relevant is undoubtedly the extent to which they are willing to spend money on a new contract for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who may be a free agent and could receive juicy offers from teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic.

The Nuggets closed last season with a certain air of disappointment. They were the current champions and were eliminated in the West semifinals in a seventh game against Minnesota that they played on their home field. Having a player like Nikola Jokic on the roster forces us to be ambitious. They weren’t last summer. We’ll see what happens in this one.
