Rincón de la Victoria prepares to receive about 400 young people judokas between 4 and 15 years old, who will participate in the Judo Interclub Meeting. This sporting event will take place at the Rubén Ruzafa Municipal Covered Pavilion in Torre de Benagalbón on June 7, 2024. The tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m. and entry will be free for the entire public.
The participants come from five clubs y several schools, including the Rincón de la Victoria Judo School, which is part of the Arias Judo Club. Among the competing clubs are Judo Arias Málaga, Judo UMA, Judo Benalmádena, Club Judo Torremolinos, as well as the British School of Málaga and Maravillas de Benalmádena schools. According to the Sports Councilor, Antonio José Martínthese institutions have demonstrated their commitment to training young people in this martial art, promoting essential values such as respect, sportsmanship and friendship.
All participants will receive medals. Children will compete in various categories: mini-benjamines, pre-benjamines, benjamines, fry, infant and cadet.
The mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado, has highlighted the growing importance of this tournament, which encourages sports participation. “This event continues to grow in participation and is an excellent opportunity for families to enjoy a sporting and educational day, in which the principles of judo are the central axis,” commented Salado.
The championship will be structured in combats of groups of four, allowing judokas to show the techniques they have learned throughout the year. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering an opportunity for the public to observe and support future local judo talents.
The Rincón de la Victoria Judo School, which operates in the Rubén Ruzafa Municipal Covered Pavilion in Torre de Benagalbón, has grown significantly in its three years of existencecurrently having 165 students.
