Roglic’s way of winning would not be worth it against Pogacar

Roglic’s candidacy for the Tour seems to me the second most powerful

Between the Pogacar Giro, Vingegaard’s recovery, Visma and UAE’s lineups for the Tour, Red Bull’s entry into Bora’s jersey and all those things, no one is talking about Primoz Roglic.

I often think of the Slovenian without clothes, and not in the first sense that comes to mind, but because of the amount of scars he must have on his arms and legs.

In fact, if I’m not mistaken, a couple of photos of him are famous, with a multitude of gauze, plasters and bruises in bed after one of the tremendous falls he has suffered.

This year we have hardly seen Roglicwell below in Paris-Nice and fleeting in Itzula, a fall in Euskadi has left him off the calendar until this Dauphiné.

The Frenchwoman is a race that she won a couple of years ago after having had her play in 2020 until a fall, for a change, left her out of it.

These days he is prowling around the first places in the event that is considered that “little Tour” that tests the legs for the big one, the one in July.

I don’t know if he will get into the fight for the general classification, a priori it is not objective, but how many times has he shown up in a lap without wanting to fight hard and ended up in trouble.

In any case, for Roglic and his team the Tour is everything, right now and anything that involves unnecessary risk will not be contemplated.

What happened in Itzulia was a painful reminder of how easy it is to lose everything in a moment.

Looking at the Tour, I don’t see a better rival, right now, for Tadej Pogacar than Primoz Roglic.

We highly value the evolution of Vingegaard, we look at Evenepoel, but Roglic seems to me to be the strongest rival right now for Pogacar.

In this Tour several aspects come together, number one is a bag of doubts, a new sponsor joins the team and there are not many opportunities left to go for the best race.

In a head-to-head match, I see it as impossible to overwhelm their Slovenian rival, but Bora bases some of their best victories on first-rate choral performances and in the eight of the Tour they are going to have one of the best teams.

Roglic will have a plan, his plan, he was the least affected in the falls in Itzulia and his form is growing enough to be ahead in Dauphiné.

I only wish you a blank Tour, without falls or elements that distort and see what your place is in the best race.

If so, I bet it won’t be far from the best.
