Roman Staňko’s reaction to the qualification in Barcelona. The Czech Republic finished penultimate – F1sport.cz

Trident failed to qualify in Spain. Staněk finished 21st, his teammate only two places higher.

Qualifying was interrupted by a red flag during the first timed attempts due to a crash by Britain’s Taylor Barnard. Staněk was in the penultimate place throughout the qualification and was unable to improve even with the last attempts.

“Twenty-first place and a loss of 1.4 seconds is really enough for me. In the previous race, me and Richard were fighting for pole position and now we are back to the situation from the first race of the season, where even though I was driving at the limit of what the car can do, we were last and couldn’t compete with anyone. No one in the team understands this and we are all very disappointed. We have to do something about it and try to get something out of the weekend,” said Staněk after qualifying.

Tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. the sprint is scheduled, and on Sunday at 11:35 a.m. Staňka will host the main race. The twenty-first will start in both races.
