Rybakina’s drama before Wimbledon! She knew it was over. Tears flowed immediately. Tennis

Elena Rybakina has had a not-so-successful time behind her. After an unexpected WTA win in Stuttgart, she lost in the semi-finals of the competition in Madrid against Aryna Sabalenka, and she did not even play in Rome. She also sensationally lost in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros to the tournament’s revelation, Jasmine Paolini. In the absence of Iga Świątek, Kazaszka was the favorite to win in Berlin, but she had a big problem.

Drama by Yelena Rybakina. Disturbing scenes before Wimbledon

The 25-year-old started the tournament brilliantly, and in the second round she did not give Wieronika Kudiermietowa a chance. She probably won 6:4, 7:5 and it was already known that she would improve her result from last year, when she lost to Donna Vekić in the second round. Her next rival was Victoria Azarenka.

The beginning belonged to Rybakina, who defended her serve. However, then she lost three games in a row, which could have caused concern among the fans. At the beginning of the fourth game, she went to the service box and started making terrible mistakes. She threw the ball out of bounds three times in a row, then crouched down and held her head. After a while, she moved towards the bench with tears in her eyes, and the judge then asked a doctor for help. However, it was to no avail, as the competitor was forced to scratch.

The WTA’s official profile later reported that she had withdrawn from continuing the match due to severe abdominal pain. The Tennis Letter’s profile emphasizes that this is the third time, after Indian Wells and the competition in Rome, that he has withdrawn from the competition. “The worrying thing is that Wimbledon is just around the corner. Missing it would be a nightmare. Let’s hope she recovers quickly,” we read.

Azarenka therefore advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament, where she will face the winner of the match between Aryna Sabalenka and Anna Kalinska. Apart from them, the game also includes, among others: Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula. There is just over a week left until the start of Wimbledon, and Iga Świątek will return to competition on the London courts.
