The Salvadorian Oscar Ticas achieved its long-awaited classification at Paris 2024 Olympic Gamesafter completing his participation in Antalya, Turkey, where the last qualifier for recurve archery athletes was held (the only modality that is Olympic), despite the fact that he did not succeed in the event.

However, the El Salvador Olympic Committee confirmed yesterday afternoon that the Salvadoran would achieve one of the Olympic places, specifically, the fifth for the Salvadoran delegation in this event.
The nationals in Paris 2024 are Uriel Canjuraclassified by badminton world ranking, the surfer Bryan Perez, the sailer Enrique Arathoonshooter Israel Gutierrez and now Ticas.

During the competition, in the preliminary or qualifying phase, Ticas finished in 51st position after scoring 632 points, which allowed them to enter the direct elimination round.
Once in the key, Ticas stayed in the first round, after falling against Roman Sergeevfrom Latvia, who finished 62nd in the previous phase, but already in the key he won 6-4 against the Salvadoran.
With this, Ticas was out of any possibility of qualifying for the tournament, but finally fate said no and it will be in its first Olympic Games, after having qualified for Río 2016but a controversial suspension for doping took him out of competing and after being left on the shore in Tokio 2020.
