San Antonio Spurs Strategize Around Victor Wembanyama for 2024-25 with Devonte’ Graham Deal

These are busy days in the NBA and the Spurs, with Victor Wembanyama as the central axis of everything, are not far behind. If on draft night they chose Stephon Castle, now they are preparing for a free agency in which they could continue to surround the Frenchman in order to form a roster competitive for the 2024-25 academic year.

Perhaps thinking just about having the maximum possible flexibility in the next few days, we have learned in the last few hours that they have agreed with Devonte’ Graham to postpone the date on which his contract would be guaranteed. According to Andrew Lopez of ESPNhe guard He is currently guaranteed $2.85 million, an amount that should have risen to $12.65 million on July 1, but will not rise until July 8.

Such determination gives San Antonio extra time to reflect on what to do with Graham, with the possibility of using his contract to close a trade with another team being on the table.

Regarding his performance with the Texas organization, Graham has averaged 8.7 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds per game, shooting 33.8% from three-point range in the season and a half he has been with the team.
