SC Heerenveen Signs Danilo Al-Saed: A Promising Addition to the Squad

SC Heerenveen has acquired Danilo Al-Saed from the Norwegian Sandefjord, the Frisians announced via official channels. The 25-year-old left winger, who can also play on the right flank, has signed until mid-2028 at the Abe Lenstra Stadium. According to Norwegian media, Heerenveen is paying over nine hundred thousand for his services.

Al-Saed is a right-footed left winger who has excellent dribbling skills. Opta Johan reports that the winger completed no fewer than 87 dribbles in the 2023 Eliteserien campaign (the Norwegian league, ed.): more than any other player.

Al-Saed was born in Bålsta, Sweden, but plays his international matches for Iraq, where his roots partly lie. The counter currently stands at two matches in the main squad.

Ferry de Haan, the general manager of Heerenveen, is delighted with the arrival of the dribbler. “We have often said that sc Heerenveen should have artists on the wings. We think that Danilo, who can play on both flanks, fits this profile well.”

“He can pass opponents with his dribbles, but his speed is also a weapon. In addition, he has proven in Norway that he can score a goal,” De Haan continues. “We are therefore pleased to be able to add him to our selection.”

Al-Saed is the third summer signing of Robin van Persie and Heerenveen. Sam Kersten and Levi Smans were previously taken over from PEC Zwolle and VVV-Venlo respectively.
