The US youngster is now higher than ever in the ATP rankings, after the year had not started off particularly promisingly, especially on clay.

However, the 23-year-old has performed strongly on grass in the past two weeks: In ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Korda reached the final (and lost to Alex de Minaur), and in Queen’s he reached the semifinals (losing to Tommy Paul).

Nice points for the ranking, which brought Korda to 20th place.

And thus a family premiere on the tour. Because dad Petra Korda was once very high in the world rankings, he and Sebastian are the first father-son duo to reach the top 20 in the ATP rankings.

And Sebastian could extend this record even further: his father Petra Korda even made it to second place in the rankings in 1998 after winning the Australian Open.

Papas Zverev, Ruud, Shelton and Fritz were not so high

Oh yes, and what about Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud, Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton, who are all also ranked among the top 20 players? Or rather, their fathers?

Unfortunately, they were not so successful.

Alexander Zverev Sr. “only” reached rank 175 (in 1985), Christian Ruud 39th (in 1995), Bryan Shelton 55th (in 1992) and Guy Fritz 301st (in 1979).
