Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais involved in an accident two days before the Polish Rally

While carrying out reconnaissance to prepare for the Polish Rally, which will take place from Thursday, Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais had a road accident. Their Toyota team, in a press release, indicates that the two men were taken to hospital to carry out “medical checks”, but without giving further details on the circumstances of the accident or on the state of health of the driver and his co-pilot.

According to Polish radio RMF24, there was a head-on collision between Ogier’s Yaris and another car, with a woman and her passenger on board. The French pilot and the driver were reportedly taken to hospital by helicopter, the other two victims by ambulance. Still according to the local media, injuries to the ribs and spine are suspected.

Ogier and Landais were in Poland to contest the seventh round of the season. The two Frenchmen, on a partial programme with Toyota again this year, have already contested four rallies and are in 4th place in the Championship with 92 points, thanks to their successes in Croatia and Portugal. On Monday, their participation in the Rally of Latvia (18-21 July) was announced.
