Ogier’s co-driver Vincent Lande was also taken to hospital but has been discharged while the eight-time champion remains under observation.

“Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT’s Sebastien Ogier and Vincent Landet have been taken to hospital for tests following a road traffic accident that occurred during practice at the Polish Rally Circuit on Tuesday morning. “The incident occurred while the crew were recording the SS10 and SS14 stages. All the cars recording the course have GPS tracking equipment, which shows that the crew did not exceed the speed limits. All involved have been checked and there were no serious injuries. While Lande has been discharged , Ogier will remain under observation throughout the night and will not be able to compete. The safety and well-being of all involved remains the team’s top priority.
