(Stéphane Martin, June 26, 2024) – After a difficult start to the season, the Sorel-Tracy Marlins seem to have found the right track and are preparing to start mid-season with a record of 7 wins and 4 losses in the League senior baseball team of Vallée-des-Forts (LBSVF).

“We are very satisfied so far. We faced very big teams from the start with opponents who were at the top of the table last year. We absolutely had to come out strong and that’s what we did. We got off to a very good start with some good, close matches to our advantage. We are where we want to be at mid-season,” comments Sorel-Tracy Marlins player-coach Jean-Philippe Morin.

According to the latter, the Marlins’ strength is found in the attack. “We have one of the best offenses in the league and it shows. On the pitching side, it still needs to be improved, but our defense and our attack could propel us to a very good end-of-season record if we continue to play this way,” adds Mr. Morin.

The Marlins’ next two games will be played at home. The first game will take place this Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the René-Saint-Germain stadium as they host their eternal rivals, the Saint-Bruno Pirates. This is an important game to consolidate the Marlins’ 2nd place in the LBSVF standings.

Friday, still around 8 p.m., at the René-Saint-Germain stadium, the Marlins will host the Boucherville Orioles.
