Senior Pundit’s opinion regarding the drawing for the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications for the Asian Zone for the Indonesian National Team

tvOnenews.com – Indonesian football observer Muhammad Kusnaeni said the Indonesian national team must be prepared as best as possible to face quite tough opponents in the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches in the Asian zone.

“All groups are equally difficult for Indonesia. There is no easier group. For that reason, just focus on preparing the team as best as possible,” said Kusnaeni in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday (27/6/2024).

The Indonesian national team is part of Group C in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications in the Asian zone along with Asian giants Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and China in the group stage draw which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Kusnaeni said that the results of the group draw could not be said to be favorable or detrimental for the Indonesian national team. Basically, in any group Indonesia will face equally tough opponents.

The squad coached by coach Shin Tae-yong (STY) has already faced Australia in the Asian Cup and it was not easy to beat them.

Likewise, Japan is not an easy opponent to beat, especially since Japan is the team with the best FIFA ranking in Asia.

For this reason, he said, the Garuda squad must be prepared as well as possible through training, a good trial agenda, the addition of new quality players.
