SKYCLIMB MEZZALAMA 2024 | Sportdimontagna.com

Due to weather the third edition of SkyClimb Mezzalama has been postponed to Sunday. After speaking with the staff of meteorologists who also support the Mezzalama Foundation for the winter ski mountaineering race, the Alpine Guide Adriano Favre wanted to give early warning to the 90 teams accredited for the up&down race and the over 100 members of the vertical: «On the day of on Saturday a disturbance at the entrance would have seriously jeopardized the smooth running of the event – he declared -. Given the odds we are going to hit, it is better not to take unnecessary risks and take advantage of the recovery day that we had opted for for this very reason. For Sunday, in fact, the forecast is better and leaves us more room for maneuver.”

Both the spectacular and consolidated team event (25 km with over 5000 meters of total altitude difference) and the new vertical that will take the athletes up to the Rifugio Guide Ayas at an altitude of 3,400 meters have been confirmed.

Program in hand on Sunday morning at 7:00 the SkyClimb test will start. Half an hour later, again from Saint Jacques, it will be the turn of the ascent-only test. If the arrival of the first couple after the long descent from Castore is scheduled for 11:00, the awards ceremony for both races will be held at 2:30 pm.
