Spain’s Yamal successfully completed school year

Spain’s young star Lamine Yamal has successfully completed his school year. The 16-year-old reported the good news on Friday at the Iberians’ European Championship camp. “I passed the exams and now have the ESO title,” Yamal told the radio station Onda Cero. The Educacion Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO) is the second school year in Spain, before the Matura. Yamal had taken his school exercises with him to the national team’s training camp.

The Barcelona winger did not want to go into detail about the grades he received. “I saw them on my phone and it said that I had passed, so I closed the app, called my mother and told her,” said Yamal. He and Spain will face outsiders Georgia in the round of 16 on Sunday. Yamal will turn 17 the day before the final in Berlin.
