Reuters reported on the 27th (Korean time), “The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has approved sport climbing as an official event for the 2028 Los Angeles (LA) Paralympic Games.”
Sport climbing debuted as an official Olympic sport at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

In 2028, it will also gain the status of an official Paralympic sport.
Casey Wasserman, Chairman of the LA Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee, said, “We are delighted to welcome disabled sport climbing athletes. We are grateful for the IPC’s decision to approve sport climbing, a dynamic sport, as an official Paralympic sport.”
“As part of the IPC, we will develop climbing into a Paralympic sport,” said Marco Scholaris, president of the International Sport Climbing Federation.
The LA Paralympic Games include goalball, badminton, boccia, shooting, cycling, swimming, horseback riding, archery, powerlifting, judo, track and field, rowing, sitting volleyball, soccer, canoeing, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby. A total of 23 sports will be held, including wheelchair tennis, wheelchair fencing, and sport climbing.
